The World Team Trophy (WTT) organised on 11 & 12 March 2019 at the Orangerie de Roissy-en-France (IDF) will prefigure what the sporting format should be at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, if billiards is chosen as an additional sport.
In Roissy, 4 men’s and 4 women’s teams will be competing: France, Europe, Asia and “Rest of the World” (Africa, America and Oceania).
Each team is composed of three players representing Carom (3cushion), Pool and Snooker.
In addition to the French teams, the selected players come from 18 different countries and five continents, thus meeting the IOC’s requirements of diversity.
The formula is designed so that the games last about an hour with half an hour of beating between game turns.
The playing area will have three tables, one for each discipline, on which the games of carom, snooker and pool will take place simultaneously according to the following schedule:
